Where have you been? Are you okay?!
- First of all, yes, I'm fine and healthy! I know it seems like I dropped off the face of the earth, but that's just because my music production naturally slowed down, in equal parts because of burnout, growing dissatisfaction with the .midi format, and simply being busy with other things. Believe it or not, I actually DID make a new musical arrangement in The Year of Our Lord 2022, which you can check out on my YouTube channel (give it a watch if you like the Ace Attorney series!) Additionally, if you're into artists who only ever post like once per month, I have a Twitter too. Unfortunately though, don't assume because of this post that I'll resume regular activity here on NewGrounds. The urge to make music these days is very sparse and fleeting. That's not to say I'll never make music again, but it will be very infrequent, and it will probably hit my YouTube channel well before my NG.
How come I haven't heard back from you? It's been 6 years!
- As weird as it sounds, I never really saw NG as a social or interactive platform. I had always felt a bit disconnected from the community here, and only ever really used it as a place to upload my music, so I was never in the habit of checking my notifications. I always just kinda assumed I was so smalltime that I wasn't even getting messages. Of course, that's all on me. I'm especially sorry if you're one of the several people who have messaged me years ago asking for permission to use my music in your works. I'm not sure if this blog post will actually reach any of those people, and I know it's kind of futile at this point, but I'll still go out of my way to reply to all of your messages with BIG apologies! And if you do happen to stumble upon this page and want to reach me urgently for any reason, the above Twitter account is the best way to do that ☝️
I'm working on a project and I'd love to include your music!
- If you want to use my music, feel free! I won't charge money or anything like that. The only thing I ask is that you PLEASE message me beforehand to notify me that you're using it! (And in fact, please link your project to me when it's done, because I'd love to see it 👍) And naturally, I'd like to be credited for my music as well.
Well, I guess that's all for now. Again, sorry for being a huge flake. I'm honored if even one person appreciates my work, and I shouldn't take that for granted.
